i was reading <Gone Girl> and
still on <The Correction>
a little slow on < The Correction>
because i read it from my phone actually
and that’s like the last resort
when i got nothing else,
really left with no other option
i will read from my phone
it surprises me how
the two protagonist share
traits in common
Chip in The Correction vs
Nick in Gone Girl
- they write for a living
- yet they struggles to make ends meet
- they resort to teaching
- and developed relationship with under-age girl
- they are running away from home (figuratively)
- old-fashioned home and parents
- so there’s this neither there nor here dilemma
- they don’t do well in the city yet
- they refuse to go back to suburb
- they have helpful sisters
i don’t know in what direction
the storyline of <The Corrections> is driving to
no.. i refuse to read synopsis
so probably i end up finding more similarities
last but not least
both (supposedly) to be adapted into movie / series
Gone Girl / The Movie / Coming Soon
The Corrections / 2012
doesn’t happen as planned
a HBO series
Deadline reports that
"Word is HBO brass liked the performances but
the decision came down to
adapting the book’s challenging narrative,
which moves through time and
cuts forwards and back.
While that works in the novel,
it proved difficult to sustain in a series and
challenging for viewers to follow,
hampering the potential show’s accessibility."
that’s why reading is still the best option after all
because translating the content onto screen
doesn’t represent what you read
and it’s of course subjected to
interpretation of the filmmakers
which could be quite different from
what you, the readers imagine
and opening in theatre this week
The Faults in Our Star / Movie / 2014
how would i put it
no offense but
somehow the image of Hazel Grace
falls short of what i have imagined
from reading the novel
i expecting she to look like this:
- long hair, preferably some eye-catching colors
- really mesmerizing eyes
- extremely skinny, almost bony
- always wearing some oversized tops
- and around the age of 15
so i don’t know
how convincing the movie will be
if that’s not what i see in the trailer
but undeniably
the movie could still be great
that’s about all
hey i actually just spoke about
3 recent-reads in one single post
good job
keep the reading going, Steph
