胭脂扣

會在4月1號前夕

看這部電影

純屬巧合

 

漢學導論今天的課

講了青樓文學

從長安到香港

所以特地安排了這部戲

 

前天我嘗試看

找到Youtube的版本

不過字幕和發音不相稱

另外一個則沒有字幕

不過癮

所以就不看了

只是讀過大綱就算了

 

反而看了半小時的阿飛正傳

然后看完了金枝玉葉

 

但是今天上課

老師說他不排除

考試會以電影為出發點

來探討妓院文化和城市的發展

所以今天又乖乖的看完了

咦 第二部分的字幕對稱了

真好

 

但是原來知道劇情來看電影

是有這么大的落差的

少了一份緊張的感覺

只是想從電影 pick up 

一些和課文有關的畫面

作為討論例子

 

看著電影時

一直都想象

張國榮和梅艷芳都還在人世

 

戲中也有講到

戲如人生 人生如戲

演戲就是上演著人生的一幕幕

但是兩位主角的命運

在現實幾乎差很多

 

為什么十二少自殺會獲救

而張國榮則走上了一條不歸路

3811 如花和十二少自殺的那天

沒看過電影的人不知道

看過了也未必會記得

3月8號不是婦女節咯

(不知道作者選3月8號

也是有這個雙重意義)

但是我們卻永遠記得

4月1號不只是愚人節這么簡單

 

戲中如花最愛情的至死不渝

最后死在十二少的懷抱

現實里 梅姐卻找不到

陪她走最后一程的那個人

 

片中的如花為情郎等了53年

歲月摧殘了十二少

七年了

永存在記憶的哥哥

都會是那個最美的男子

 

去年的這個時候

寫了一遍 懷念哥哥

希望明年今日

我還是在這個地方

再寫多一篇

 

今年過了一季

是時候醒來了

Mum’s Kitchen - Yau Char Kway

no ammonia bicarbonate

no alum

no dark-coloured oil

this is 50% healthier

 

why never we thought of that

Yau Char Kway is actually fried bread

 

while we were baking bread last Sunday

set some dough aside

bread dough       

added in a pinch of baking soda and salt

and here we get YCK

 

slicing dough into thin and long pieces frying...        very slim indeed       looking better

where is my fresh soy bean?

 

word of caution

while i was frying YCK

i realized how frying food is so fattening

because we dip the old thing into hot, boiling oil

 

using oil absorbent paper does help

but much more oil  has already being absorbed

 

this is just like chinese french fries

high in saturated fat

so…

instead of taking YCK + soy bean as breakfast

please substitute it with wholegrain bread

 

YCK happened to be the by-product

the star of the day

homemade wholegrain bread

it's so soft       floss bread

p/s  i stood more than 1 hour frying the floss

i am crazy over coconut

yummy yummy

Mum’s Kitchen: Kuih Ketayap

Mum’s Kitchen: Best Bread ever

we have tried making bread

but this is the softest, fluffiest ever

even after days

recipe from Ohbin

 

mom was so addicted that

within a week

we actually made 3 times

experimenting with different flavours

but the main reason being is course

we are bread-eating people

 

chicken floss

coconut

raisin

the best is the coconut filling

because of our secret weapon…

 

mixing everything together after some kneading boomzz.. shaping the buns after inserting filling

ready for the oven

 

actually the ingredients are simple

sufficient time for the dough to rise

and effort on kneading the dough

will determine the “fate” of the bread

walnut topping     the shade of egg white looks artistic             fulliness

 

金玉其外, 何物其中?

 

some bread out there

the softness and fluffiness

are contributed by some addictives

so it’s like lack of real weight and taste

 

but for ours one,

they are soft yet compact

the solid bread

 

try compressing a loaf of bread

for a solid one

the shape will remain intact

but for the not so natural one

it will be twisted and deformed

and obviously shrink in size
