Journey to the Middle of Nowhere

after an sheer emo afternoon last Saturday

went for a walk alone

i need some time to think

i need some air to breathe

 

for some, this may be a bad timing

6pm with the scorching sun

but i love the sun

indulge in sunbathing

take pride in my sun-burnt skin

 

everything is so empty in the neighbourhood

i guess most people spend their evening

watching tv or having dinner

 

i don’t bitch about gov and politic here

but this is interesting

the government always plant trees

then refurbish the walkways with these tiles

but trees are unlike tiles

they do grow higher, stronger, deeper

so we get root in a square

poor trees

 

and soon enough the gov wil announce another

millions dollar campaign to fix the walkway

or even replace all the tiles

including those intact one

because the design is out of trend

or because the faded tiles ruin the image of the city

but please don’t replace the trees

they are just so innocent

why don’t you just replace it

with green patch of grass instead

they are building shot lots right in front

so the main entrance will be gone forever

what a brilliant idea

can’t they just renovate the mall or something

there was rumour that

Carrefour wanted to move over

instead, they moved to the 3rd storey of DP

would you want to go all the way to the 3rd storey

to do your weekly groceries shopping?

 

that’s Indah Sayang

a pretty famous Baba-Nyonya cuisine restaurant

but heard that it’s not as good as it was

and the price is pretty “touristy”

there are at least 5 competitors along this main street

Equatorial Hotel

one of the landmark hotel of Melaka

people just pronounce it as as-sir-five

when i was young i used to wonder

what does it mean??

maybe their school slogan is

with my stamina and physical fitness

it only took me like less than a hour

to reach the “Peak”

80% probability it’s a hotel

there’s the Renaissance, City Bay View

and the Emperor hotel at right

there used to be quite a lot of joggers around

i guess they shun this place now

thanks to the Justin Bieber’s songs

 

i always wonder

how would it feels to roll over from here

just like Jackie Chan

 

but nowadays nobody performs stunts anymore

even Jackie himself has retired from stunts

and rather teaches kung-fu at the Great Wall

i guess this is a good marketing strategy

teaching kung-fu at the Great Wall

tourists won’t be bothered whether they really learn

via Banda Kaba

hence gave Capitol Satay a miss

gosh it was already one week

i don’t exact miss Capitol Satay

but rather the queue-ing

 

   

quickened my pace

must reach before nightfall

made it back before everyone else

7.30pm

so the long walk lasted for 1 hour 30 minutes

 

sat down with a more tranquil heart

all the emo-ness are quite gone

to find that…

someone has changed his relationship status to single 

holy shit ….

and mine?

it' still appeared as “in a relationship”

with my own self

isn’t it great!!
