and “Monga” has become a
special term after the movie
keywords that popped up in my mind
during the visit are like
oopps it’s in idioms
I don’t think they are that
translatable
“香火鼎盛”
“絡繹不絕”
“誠能動神”
there’s the hall for Yue Lao 月老 too
the “Grandpa of the Moon” who
supposedly takes care of
marriage and love
I swear I prayed real hard to him
he sent me someone but
I am not even sure if
this gonna work out

despite its quaintness
the management is really systematic
they have counters like banks to
serve all purposes such as
registration for praying camps,
well-wishing ceremony,
so on and so forth including
general enquiries
so the public actually have to
get their queue numbers
fill up forms and
settle themselves at the waiting area
before they proceed to
process their request
a quick research and I found that
there are actually
three famous temples in Monga 艋舺三大廟
- Qing Shan Palace 艋舺青山宮
- Long Shan Temple 台北龍山寺
- Qing Shui Zu Shi Temple 清水巖祖師廟
so I have given Qing Shan Temple a miss
Zu Shi Temple was where we passed by
but it was so quiet that
I am even unsure if I should enter
and this is actually where
the poster of the movie was shot
well.. too bad you give it a miss
well frankly speaking
I don’t really enjoy the movie that much
but it’s more like a stepping stone for
Mark Mark so I watched it anyway
over and over because
I don’t really catch the sentiments
and we should have visited
at night for the night market
it’s okay
there’s always next time
we went on to
wander our ways to XiMenDing
2km or so
totally different kind of crowds
on a Sunday afternoon
