instead of doing

a stock-in-inspection and

budget invigilation

at the end of the year

 

I think it is wiser

for me to do it now for

the first of 2011

I would not go crazy

that mean on average

I shop on a fortnight basis

 

total amount of spending:

slightly over rm 1000

which is quite reasonable for me

 

my target budget for the year is rm 2000

but I am slightly worried

because given the 2 trips

and the winter trip still in planning

I doubt rm 1000 is enough for

the 2nd half of the year

so it’s spread out quite evenly

like shopping on a fortnight basis

6 new items, on monthly basis

(that’s scary)

 

and what’s more disturbing

out of the 36 items

14 have not been used / worn yet

that mean I am buying

beyond the means of wearing

 

well, the justification may be

the 3 pairs of board shorts

the 2 pairs of flip flops

the 1 pair of bikini

I am equipping myself for the summer vacation

 

the worst buy is of course:

my pair of heels

in fact the two pairs of heels

 

the MNG black heels

is already taking up 10% of my total bills

and they are still sealed and safe and sound

and I jokingly say that

I am reserving this for special occasions

such as my besties’ weddings

 

and last week I was so mad

when I found out that mom almost

threw the shoe box away

putting them in a random box

I mean the box means a lot to the shoes

just like without the Cartier box

your ring is just a ring

hereby, I have to admit

I buy this pair of heels

out of vanity

 

and the blue denim heels

have been abandoned

after two attempts of wearing

due to discomfort

I wore it to school yesterday

I feel that I am empowered

to go further and faster

I am such a liar right

lessons of the day:

I guess I am more matured to say NO

to expensive not-so-worth-it items

such as Remake It

 

based on the

conversion and compromise theory

if I am struggling with an item

beyond my means

then I will convince myself

how many items can I purchase

with the same price

at a cheaper store

without much compromise on the quality

 

on the other hand

learn to say NO to cheap items as well

don’t buy just because it is cheap

think of whether I really need it

because a hill of cheap clothes

will tally to a great amount of money too

and what you gonna do with them, seriously

 

thirdly

we learn to adopt this shopping strategy

which make us buy less

and really buy when it’s necessary

by comparing the bargains all over the place

 

browse all, buy last

browsing through all the shops

based on all the potential targets

think twice then decide

before you really make a purchase

 

and sometimes

you may even give up an items

because you are too tired

to travel back to the particular shop
