ignorant as i am
i got to realize for the first time that
Vaisakhi is celebrated by the Sikh community
in the mid of April
on this day, in the year 1699,
the 10th Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh
laid down the foundation of the Panth Khalsa,
that is the Order of the Pure Ones
For Hindus, it is the start of
the second month of New Year after Chaitr,
and is celebrated with requisite
bathing, partying, and worshipping
and today is a public holidays in certain cities
(definitely not the one i am residing in right now)
Good Friday is the Friday before Easter Sunday
is a religious holiday observed primarily by
Christians commemorating the
crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary
On Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate
the resurrection of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion
okay got it
so.. how about
Easter Egg?
Eggs, in general,
were a traditional symbol of fertility, and rebirth,
In Christianity, for the celebration of Eastertide,
Easter eggs symbolize the empty tomb of Jesus:
though an egg appears to be like the stone of a tomb,
a bird hatches from it with life;
similarly, the Easter egg is a reminder that
Jesus rose from the grave,
and that those who believe will also experience eternal life
Easter Bunny?
is a fantasy character depicted as
a rabbit bringing Easter eggs.
Originating among German Lutherans,
the Easter Hare originally played the role of a judge,
evaluating whether children were
good or disobedient in behaviour at
the start of the season of Eastertide.
The Easter Bunny is sometimes depicted with clothes
in legend, the creature carries
colored eggs in his basket, candy and
sometimes also toys to the homes of children,
and as such shows similarities to
Santa Claus or the Christkind
Eastertide?
is a festal season in the liturgical year of Christianity that
begins on Easter Sunday
and for us the Chinese community
who celebrated
Qing Ming is a traditional Chinese festival on
the 15th day after the Spring Equinox
literally translated as "Pure Brightness Festival"
the name suggests a time for people to
go outside and enjoy the greenery of springtime,
but it is mostly noted for it connection with
Chinese ancestral veneration and
the tending of family graves
and today back home
which i unfortunately can't take part
and at the same time
fortunate enough to skip the chores
is my grandma’s death anniversary
19th, Mar in lunar calendar
let’s see
she passed away back in 1998
so this is the 16th anniversary
did i still have any memory of that event?
i remember drinking loads and loads of
drinking water in sealed disposable cup
because it was quite a novel thingy to me
and the adults were discussing about
the air-conned “international” coffin
made from i forgot which species of wood
which was costing a bomb
erm..
in short,
this is a season of renewal
work hard work hard
work hard for the summer break
yeehawwww
