First movie of the year
have been expecting since
some times ago
throughout 2013
had not seen a single Shawn Yue's in theatre
《SDU: Sex Duties Unit 飛虎出征》
didn’t suit right
but I swear to goodness
I am still a die hard fan of his
more so, after this one
because he doesn't have to
try too hard to act as someone else
not to say that he doesn’t put in effort
of course there are unsung effort
behind the scene
he simply fits in characters perfectly well
He is Shawn Yue/Cheung Chi Ming
or "Ar Chill" in this one
I couldn't tell who is who
how I like the name being
translated as "Ar Chill"
he always looks chill
yet knows how to get things go about
I don't know
probably people who don't
really like him will label his attitude as
a form of arrogance
Chok/hea/whatever you call it
but this is the one thing
which makes him so mesmerizing to me
Shawn Yue is neither hot
nor cool like Nicholas Tse
he is just at the "room" temperature
Just right
anyway
I can go on talking about Shawn
back to the movie
It turned out to be
above expectation
thanks to the
well developed story line
not the typical
got the call and rush to the scene
kind of story telling
bet you have not encountered
this one, at such scale
although you have watched the
fire fighting series of TVB
I have no taste for
disaster genre
yet this was fine because
the cause of disaster was
logically and practically constructed
not something out of wild imagination
it even sets me thinking
how high is the probability of this scenario
happening for real
heavens… no!
there are a couple of quotes
pretty meaningful
something like:
although you are walking with others
in darkness, you can only rely on yourself
don’t believe in what you see
trust your gut feeling
also feel grateful to see
Deep Ng 吳浩康 and
Kenny Kwan 關智斌 in the movie
always wish they could do better in
Cantopop industry
so basically you get to see
Different era of cantopop male artist
From Nicholas Tse, Shawn Yue
To Deep Ng, Kenny Kwan
then the cutie pie William Chan
A good start for 2014
looking forward to more great movies
HK production, particularly
Kudos to the director
Derek Kwok
