was trying to securing our tickets to Xiamen
yesterday there were these
funny phenomenon that
no economic tickets are available between
the date of 1st and 10th
how could that be
you mean so many people are flying?
i should have realized the fishy-ness
it’s okay
let it be, then i returned to the site
a few hours later
finally secured tickets on
the particular date we wanted
just to discovered that
my dad’s passport is expiring in
less than six months time
it’s okay
so we went to get it fixed, immediately
and came right back to book
and so.. there’s no available tickets again
it’s okay
probably tomorrow some tickets will be released
all i am asking for is a pair of tickets
economic class ticket,
non-promo price or whatsoever
today morning at 7am
the price has hiked up like so so much
a pair of returned ticket is amounted to 3312 MYR
it’s okay
since my dad wanna go on this trip
quite badly for some time already
unlike the other destinations,
this is like a homegoing thing
so we shall proceed, although
it’s a little way out of the original budget
so here i went
trying for a couple times
still encountered the same thing
it’s okay
assuming there was an issue with the card
i tried to make a all new booking with debit card
which turned out to be:
no tickets are available anymore
not even one at the jacked-up price
so i don’t know
just let it be, i’ll see later if
tickets happened to be released
and it seems that MAS is the best alternative
comparing Xiamen Airlines which flies
once a week to and fro
Fri – Xiamen-KL
Sat – KL-Xiamen
and the price is way exceeding 4000 RMB
another choice, China Southern
which requires transit at Guangzhou
long hours of overnight at Guangzhou
i had spent night at Baiyun Airport and
definitely would not ask for another
after awhile
someone called me on phone

claiming to be customer service agent from MAS
she had all the details of mine, the flight details etc
asking if i would like to perform the transaction
over the phone with another card
of course not!
my first impression is
you spammer!! MAS are just so screwed!
so i hung up,
she said will call back in 2 hours time to
confirm or else she would have to
cancel the pending booking
there ain’t much left,
only 4 tickets left for economic class
haha!! you gonna be kidding me
i was at the seat selection page earlier on
it was all so empty
i asked her if
she could release it immediately and
i could go online and grabbed it
she said no, because
there are other customers on the waiting list
okay whatever
i thought i really have to give up
because tickets were not released yet
until i was like
should i try once more on Skyscanner
yes i should
just a random try
and guess what
i found way cheaper tickets with Cathay Pacific
via Skyscanner, redirected to Expedia
700 MYR, cheaper for two pax
MAS called me up again
as promised, two hours after the first
i told her to just cancel the pending booking
i don’t want any more trip with MAS if
they could be that stupid to ask for
credit card details over the phone
although Cathay Pacific’s flight are indirect
with transit at Hong Kong
so much more flexible since
KL-HK flights are like 4 times per day
and there are so many choices to combine from
shortest are 2 hours,
some can even stay up to 12 hours in HK,
if you really want to
tried to book but i can’t
so i suspected that the credit card was locked
due to previous unsuccessful attempts with MAS
went to check at the bank
WTF!!
the transaction with MAS has been approved
according to the bank
so it’s pending payment
not-cancelable
but why,
if the transaction has been approved
why didn’t they issue the ticket itinerary
no nothing
so i called them up
okay keep calm
and the agent actually told me
yes i made 3 attempts in total
1st one was canceled
2nd one was also canceled
but the 3rd transaction was pending
which means neither approved nor voided
so i actually have to wait for 7 working days
so that they will remit the money back to me
what the fuck is wrong with them
that’s 3,300 MYR
and i have to call up everyday if
it has already been refunded
that’s not all
since it is held up here
i wouldn’t dare to lock down the booking with
Cathay Pacific
what if suddenly MAS tell me
the pending transaction is successful
so congratulations we will issue the tickets
and i will be left with 4 pairs of tickets
so i couldn’t be doing anything
until any confirmation from MAS
what’s wrong with them
called up my bank again
and they actually said that
nothing can be done from their side
if MAS promised a refund then
i have to pressurize them more

looks like it
pray for the best!
it couldn’t get any worse!

and hey, there’s Cathay Pacific still
which is connected to more cities at mainland
