Juno X SoftHard: Lam-Man-Lung Revisit

2007, from the album of

《Chapel of Dawn》

 

quite a catchy tune

and cheeky lyrics and

I always like X-over whereby

the uniqueness of the collaborators

emerged in the work

instead of succumb to the other party

in order to become one

 

SoftHard sounds like the good old them

Juno is pretty much the cool new him

and *bang…*

 

however there’s one thing which

always got me thinking and

I finally got the answer

 

randomly on a bus ride while

looping Juno’s 《Nothing Lasts Forever》 

a compilation of his best

 

it’s regarding the title of the song

《林民龍》 which is obviously a name

of the shy guy portrayed in the song

who is hesitating to date a girl 

but why this name?

 

okay it sounds like one of

those common guys who

pass you by on the street

but still there must be a reason

 

then I finally realize

okay 3 characters of the name

taken one each from the collaborators

林 from 林海峰 Jan Lamb

民 from 葛民輝 Eric Kot

龍 from 麥浚龍 Juno Mak

 

bingo

it’s a tic-tac-toe

 

5 years later

and I finally discovered this

how slow and insensitive can I get

 

the one and only thing is

the music video actually disappointed me

Juno is known for making really impressive MV

so is this one with its 3D animation and all

 

and the looks are actually based on

SoftHard’s 2007 《Long Time No See》

making-a-come-back album

 

but yet it fell short of my expectation to

actually see three of in real person
