finally found the courage to
fill in my monthly sales report
since i need the figure
to confirm my fear below

let’s face it
April recorded the lowest figure
since September 2015
a 35% drop from March
*
if hash tags were to be used
it would probably look like
# sharp decline
# plunge
# collapse
*
and of course
during times like these
small tasks really matter a lot
it’s like collecting water
from a dripping pipe
*
and can even make a difference
because i was expecting
the worst already
*
at the end of the day
even though it doesn’t
seem as bad after all
it really felt like
the longest month ever
*
on a brighter note
i found a life!
minus travel and work
*
started reading again
could easily finish 1 novel
in 2-3 days when
there wasn’t much to do
*
i even started writing
a brief book report
something done casually
5 sentences max
*
and for almost 2 months
managed to work out
without fail everyday
*
it was really satisfying
the sweat, the pull
and of course
the well-fitted jeans
*
by late April
where my birthday happened to land on
it no longer seemed as bleak
*
not saying that
the bad times are over
but it probably couldn’t
get any worse
*
who knows?
but i am definitely more prepared
