so i started researching

about the price

the retailing price is 3,099 MYR

which is about 720 USD

however the lowest market price is

currently around 2,500 MYR

which is about 590 USD

on both shopping platforms

i usually shop at

yesterday i was kinda of busy

with work in the morning

was somehow talking to my sister

she is now a pro online shopper

much better than me

and she was telling me

about the abundant coupons

11street was giving her

so i was telling her

that particular Huawei 10 Plus

which is the cheapest around

can’t be purchased with a bonus coupon

wait she was saying that

the phone is going at 2459

instead of 2519

are we talking about the same?

goodness.. further reduction?

and she is that pro that

she managed to apply

two, not one coupons

for minor discounts on

product and shipping

goodness

so i was technically

half pushed into the final stage of

buying decision

as she was asking if

she should proceed to pay

and the coupons would be

expiring in two days

so i told her to

put it on hold

and let me sort out

my finance and

transfer money to her

before getting one

by 9 PM

she sent me another screenshot

with the price after discount

and asked if the price is okay

and by 10:30 PM

she sent me a screenshot of her

transaction status notification

see… i told you she is pro

so i was literally

not involved in the

final purchasing stage

except getting updates

and yeah

i haven’t even paid her

waiting for fresh fund

to be pumped into my account

is a way to deter myself from

and there was a direct payment

So i started to research extensively

having rationalized that i should

really get a P10 Plus

i did quite some research

especially in terms of camera:

- P10 vs P10 Plus

- P10 vs iPhone 7

- P10 vs One Plus 5

- top rated phones on DxO Mark

then only I realized One Plus is

also a Chinese company

based in Shenzhen

and they are also offering

One Plus 5, One Plus 5+

and their USPs are

the camera as well as

a simple OS, known as OXYGEN

which is developed in-house

but nevertheless Android compatible

as well as technical aspects such as:

what will happen to the songs

you bought on iTunes Music when 

you are switching to Android

and i went in-store

to check out the phones

no they were not turning the light off

in conjunction with Earth Hour

Me & My Huawei P10+ 01: Is It Really a Must?

have been wanting to get a

Huawei P9 or P10

Leica camera is really appealing for me

i must say

so my BFF got a P9

and she is really satisfied with the phone

*

then i talked my sister into buying one

and she got a P9 Plus

but it ended up as a spare phone

because they are die-hard Samsung users

*

since it ended up as a spare phone

i got to borrow it for a week

for my trip to Saigon plus

concert night at Singapore

*

the result is really good

and i can happily ditch my camera

for three reasons

*

firstly

we didn’t purchase

any luggage allowance

so everything must be hand carried

taking some weight off is

always a good idea

*

secondly

camera is apparently not allowed

in a concert venue

*

thirdly

and most importantly

my camera is really bad

i am not sure if

it’s that bad or

i am really bad at using it

*

it failed me

time after time

once i experimented it at

Hong Kong Disneyland

all the photos for the

night parade screwed up

thank goodness i snapped

extra copies with my iPhone

*

recently i tried out with

both iPhone and camera again

the quality is better i supposed

after 1+ years later

then again

i wouldn’t dare to compare

because i am afraid

it will disappoint me again

too bad i don’t have a third hand

or i would have snap more

with P9 Plus and

compare among the three

well getting busy

juggling between

phone, camera and phone camera

that sounds pretty awkward

and i could have missed

the fun of being there

right at the moment

and what if i accidently

leave something behind

that definitely is an oouch

no matter which one is it

so i wanted a P10 pretty badly

more so recently

my BFF is touring Europe

and she has been sending me

photos snapped on her P9

knowing that her ulterior motive is

to tempt me into getting one

my iPhone 6S is kinda failing me

sometimes as it keeps running

low on memory

and lag is quite apparent recently

it reminded me about

on the day i bought the phone

and the camera on the same day

i got my new camera and

went to the mall with it

and coming across the camera

was something unexpected

although i had been researching

about camera for sometime

i decided to put it on hold

and got a phone first

since it was more urgent

and if the phone camera

was working well

i didn’t even have to

then i came across this camera

it was Sony A5100

if i remember correctly

so i went to check it out

and the guy introduced me to

another model Fujifilm X-A2

and did a detailed comparison

between the two

and since it was 31

he was urging me to buy

since that was the last day

for their year-end promo

so i end up buying X-A2

which was a model

i have never researched on

impulse buying!!!

on the same day

i got my iPhone 6S

which i bought online

and the guy saw my phone

and he was telling me

how i should have gotten

one with higher memory capacity

since it runs out pretty fast

true to his word

i am really facing it now

after 1.5 year and

crappps i feel like

reselling the camera back to him

so this is another junction

where i need a camera and a phone

but not as urgent as Dec 2015

why not getting something

which can do both

and by the way

i heard that iPhone 8

is going to be real expensive

我還是繼續在看著

昨晚看到什麼來著

好像是大婚以後

然後就找了

亦舒的原著來讀了

是一篇亦舒

很典型的短篇小說

只是可能有點特別的是

之前看的亦舒小說裡

女主更大可能是唐晶

小說是看完了

劇還在看一半

不得不說

是有被電視劇驚艷到

很多時候

很害怕電視劇電影

因為種種因素會把

一篇很好的小說演壞掉

但《我的前半生》沒有

*

改編得很得體

比較接地氣

情節的轉彎也是有驚喜的

感覺人物雖然變少了

卻把重心人物都演活了

亦舒的都市言情小說

沒有幾千也不下幾百吧

如果都能夠排隊出街就好了

there’s probably the only part

we can head to without

suffering the winter

within a 6 month period

is during November

right before school break

so i wasn’t really keeping an eye

as i was busy during the week

about the long weekend

and potential destinations

i do keep a lunar calendar

which comes in handy

for me to check on the dates

i was suggesting that

as it is a quick getaway

shall we just head to

somewhere near like

Chiangmai, Hanoi or even

Angkor Wat?

he gave me a big no

for all the suggestions

okay let me do a proper research

which i quickly did

upon arriving at home

i do have a back-up itinerary

for Guangdong

let it be Shenzhen, Guangzhou

or even Shantou

as there are many other

smaller cities around

which we are yet to explore

because i discovered that

the tickets are always cheap

since there are 3 flights

on a daily basis

and i was jokingly telling

my friend that

this is an advantage

so i started checking

both routes

looks like I am in luck

plenty of cheap tickets

are still available

with good timing as well

for Guangzhou

a pair of return ticket

will cost around 1000+ MYR

for Shenzhen

a pair of return ticket will cost

and i suddenly got this thought

to combine a Shenzhen-Guangzhou trip

which makes perfect sense

from the map

so i booked my first pair of tickets

to Shenzhen at this price

and proceeded to

perform another search

for our return flight from Guangzhou

oh wait.. without smart combo

the price jumps from 338 MYR to 475 MYR

for a one way ticket

from Guangzhou to KL

so i decided to look for

alternatives on Traveloka

because i have been utilizing

their promo code for direct discount

indeed they do have one

operated by Malidon at similar timing

and this is actually better

as it is the nett price

inclusive of 30 kg luggage allowance

and not forgetting

the final step which

is the main reason which

keeps me with Traveloka

on the summer back in 2011

so i am taking Xiamen off

from my weather list

for the time being

what an eventful day

• went out of town in the morning

• booked our Chongqing tickets

Thought I can stay clean

for at least a week

but then..

so i ended up buying this

so i actually fell for this trap

since i am willing to

on an ordinary Nike bottle

Taking Bus Ride X Like College All Over Again: Now, with an App

took a trip to Seremban last week

which was like college days

all over again

nothing seemed to change here

well..

this is actually my very first time

booking bus ticket via an app

did it through Red Bus

it’s head-quartered in South Asia

*

which offers Melaka-Seremban route

*

the other alternative would be

CatchThatBus

*

my telco is offering 15% promo code

so i might give it a try next time round

*

the reason why

i didn’t book with them

this time round is because

they are only giving one option

for my return trip

*

while Red Bus offers many trips

all day long

*

ride experience wise

basically there are

two types of booking

those with m-Ticket and without

depending on the operator

*

for those with m-Ticket

it doesn’t mean you can board

the bus with that e-ticket

*

instead you have to

provide the proof of purchase

at the operator’s counter

and they will print out a

hard copy ticket for you

*

for those without m-Ticket

is actually a better option

you can choose a seat

print it out and

that will act as your ticket

to board the bus

without going to the counter

i tried both

the first trip is without m-Ticket

i.e. printed out the ticket at home

and proceeded rightly to the platform

it was almost time but

i didn’t see any bus which says

it’s heading to Seremban

*

thank goodness i asked the

driver who was checking tickets

for a bus heading to Teluk Intan

in fact that’s the bus to board

i.e. they are heading to Seremban first

for drop off and pick up some

new passengers heading to Teluk Intan

so.. it’s safer to head to the

counter for confirmation after all

although the printout acts

as a ticket itself

for my return trip

i used another opreator

with m-Ticket

so once i arrived at Seremban

i went to their counter

to get my ticket printed

was told that the 5 PM trip

was being cancelled

so it’s either 4:30 or 6PM

so i picked 4:30 PM

but due to some technical issue

they were not able to print out

the ticket for me

so…

it was kinda scary

encountered a jam on our way

to the bus terminal

got there at 4:27 PM

without a ticket

when i headed to the counter

there was no one there

so i ran to the platform

and got on the bus

*

the ticketing guy at the counter

whom i had bumped into

was checking tickets

*

oh my

the bus was already filled up

so i think it was very likely that

i would be chased down and

forced to take the 6 PM bus

since i actually didn’t

hold a ticket for 4:30 PM

*

except a proof of purchase for 5 PM

which had been canceled anyway

*

thank goodness

a guy was chased down

instead of me

because his ticket was for 6 PM

instead of 4:30 PM

wow

what a close shave

in short

it’s not completely paperless after all

and do check with the counter

because you will never know

change of schedule

change of platform

or whatsoever

Smooth-Sailing June X Sailing 1/3 into July: A Peak for Good, Finally

June was literally smooth sailing

就訂了機票

9月出發

從訂機票開始

突然就感到壓力了

因為 她三不五時

給我發了差不多很多

交通、酒店、等等

天啊 還有三個月耶

為了讓她感到放心

所以我也就訂了酒店

應該是史上第一次

出發3個月前已經

把酒店訂好

訂了假日酒店

因為在太多未知數的前提

我至少得保證酒店是可以呆

就算旅行沒有太過愉快

或者沒有太多行程

就當作一次staycation好了

然後至於行程

我也在Klook找了幾個

皮皮島、翡翠池什麼的

其實翡翠池

我還挺感興趣的

有山有水的

還有一段1點5小時的步行

誰知道

她說這個可能不行

她不確定自己

是否可以在森林裡走

然後我就極速冷卻掉了

告訴她說

這種都是開發好的路

而且還有導遊帶著

就好像普通步行罷了

我們就暫不考慮好了

我們先在國內見個面

在出發之前

由於她居住的地方

和城市中心還有一段

而我從另一個城市

遠道而來

那自然就是

我乘坐2小時的長途車

到了市中心

我們就找個中心點會合

她說市中心的路她不熟悉

只能在她家附近會合

喔 可是她不是開車嗎

或者讓我

乘坐巴士到機場

然後從機場有趟巴士

是到她家附近的

老娘如果坐2小時的車

到了機場不是為了上飛機

而是再轉搭1小時的車

去找個朋友會會面

然後再沿著相同的路線。。

那我肯定是有病了

反正我就是到了市中心

那到時候我再找找

公共交通怎麼到

她最近的地鐵站好了

她說家附近的地鐵站

她也不知道在哪兒

得去找找

不過最近好像有開通

新的路線 她可以嘗試

乘坐地鐵到市區去

前提是她也不知道

last Friday 30th June

was the last day

to make use of the

promo code provided by

my beloved telco

yay or nay

i have been eyeing

these kicks for sometimes

then i told myself that

if i didn’t manage to

loot any sneaker from Tokyo

*

then i shall proceed to

check out the cart

once i got back from Tokyo

*

so here i was

checking out these items

on a Friday night and

they were on their way

pretty soon on the next day

and i have actually

removed a few unnecessary items

including a MNG X Bugs Bunny

pullover which is cute but

kinda impractical for me

*

i fell for it at first sight in-store

and waited so long for the mark down

you can imagine the pain

when i removed it from my cart

  *

and a pair of Aldo loafer

as well as few dresses

which i don’t think i will

never wear in months to come

*

let me explain about

the tank top

it’s for my upcoming Krabi trip

*

and Ipanema was a total accident

i have not been buying Ipanema

for a long time

and it has been our favourite

for at least a decade i think

*

and i have never tried

their strap sandals

when i was hesitating

on Friday itself

my cousin came in a pair

*

and she said it’s super comfy

she stopped buying flip flops

after she discovered these

*

okay have faith in my cousin

that’s what i can at least do

being an anti-socialist

who find it awkward to

talk to my cousin

at least we have something

in common to talk to now

oh yeah

ordered on Friday night

shipped on Saturday evening

and soon Monday afternoon

here they are at my doorstep

my phone was on silent mode

like as always

and i was busy working away

thank goodness

i have left them my mom’s

as back up because

worst comes to worst

my phone is on flight mode

silent mode is a rare case

because i only turn it on

when i am expecting a parcel

*

Monday afternoon is

not a good timing for parcel

because the whole family is around

it’s very likely that

i will get condemned

and it’s a bloody huge parcel

so i hid them outside

and took them in

when everyone was busy

later in the evening

and declared that

i bought a pair of Ipanema

they got so damn surprised

because it doesn’t look like

my usual cup of tea

i was casually saying that

it’s okay

for everyone to share

whoever needs shoes can have them

pheww..

in fact..

i have no idea

why the boxes got so crumpled

*

but thank goodness

the contents are fine

well they should!!

the shapes on my Ipanema sandals

i know i know it’s similar to

the iconic Issey Miyake shapes

but i can’t stand the fact that

it’s also similar to durian
