CD/成都/02: Qing Yang Palace 青羊宫

even after 3 months

I somehow can recall

this is a huge, really well-organized

one of the largest Taoist Temple

I have ever been

Qing Yang Palace

literally translated as the Green Goat Palace

the iconic Green Goat which carries features of

12 Chinese zodiacs on its different part of the body

and touching the mascot in a temple has always been

something everyone enjoys doing

therefore the really “shiny” tone

I seriously need to put in more effort

in studying the characters in Taoism

some overlap with those in Buddhism

some are from folklores

some are actual historical figures

some are great masters of Taoism

being located at a busy road junction

it’s a totally different environment in here

The green goat!

I mean ya, looks like one to me

at the garden

many local old folks were hanging out

having lunch and

some were having tea and snacks

during lunch time

what the locals are willing to queue up for

shouldn’t go wrong

6 RMB per pax

a bowl of rice with 2 vegetarian dishes

I am not a fan

or rather I don’t eat any bitter gourd at all

and my dad doesn’t like Mapo Tofu

so basically

that’s all his and this is all mine

a really rare and extreme case of

favourite-est vs least favourite

on our way out, trying to memorize the couplets

「道生一,一生二,二生三,三生萬物。」

「人法地,地法天,天法道,道法自然。」

“道法自然" which roughly means

NATURE, the essence of Taoism

which includes another ∞ types of wisdom in there
