December was definitely
worth looking forward to
with plans for
all 4 weekends!!

but there came the
down side of it
December was
traditionally a busy month
usually lasted until Christmas
*
2 back to back trips
thank goodness
none of the flights were
at awkward timing
a 2 hour flight on Friday morning
and the remaining 3
fell on weekend
*
but of course
were working throughout
the trips
at different pace
*
for the first 3d2n
island getaway with friends
i started at 4 in the morning
called it a day by 8
and joined the rest
who looked “fresh”
after a good night sleep
*
so i tried my best to
morning mask does help!!!

and having experienced
similar situation
during our previous island trip
to Lombok back in 2016
*
this time round
it was more manageable
and having planned a
weekend trip does help a lot
as i don’t deal with
expected on going tasks
which come in unexpectedly
*
so i just had to
focus on that one big task
which kinda sped up progress
*
and the 2nd trip
was totally different
as it was a week long trip
with family
*
since we flew on Saturday
i had 2 work-free days
to actually rest and settle in
before the super hectic
weekdays ahead
*
so i started at 4am
almost everyday
it wasn’t an easy task
in the winter!!!
*
and the most rewarding experience
would be having settled everything
for the day and
chilled at the
chilly rooftop balcony
by 7am
*
in fact i got a big volume
during the beginning
of the week
but since it was a busy week
i had to juggle at
many other smaller tasks
at the same time
*
there was this particular day that
we didn’t go out at all
except for lunch and dinner
*
i don’t mind doing this
when i travel solo
really
*
but my poor dad
and we were staying
in a big house without TV
*
he was probably snacking downstairs
most of the time
*
and after that rush was over
during the day after
i was quite burnt out
that i took quite a long nap
*
it was kinda nice
to be wrapped in comforter
on a chilly but sunny afternoon
*
but i was kinda apologetic
during our previous trip
to this city 6 years back
even if we travelled without internet
i managed to plan
one attraction for a day
and two days out of city
*
but sorry to say that
this time round
we were mostly
going to the same places
we have already visited
and no day trip
out of the city
*
i had a work-free Christmas
caught up with relative and friend
a well spent Christmas
which will otherwise be replaced with
sleep-in whole day
*
then there came the
final week of the year
my bestie’s wedding in town
*
it was a good evening
until i had to leave early
because some friends
started making nasty joke
really drunk or
on the pretext of being drunk
i don’t know
*
so i left early
and when asked to stay
i was like:
hey i am working tomorrow
*
i don’t know why
did i come up with this phrase
“i swear to God
i am working tomorrow”
*
but hey
tomorrow was a Sunday
and out of the mouth of
a freelancer who flies so often
*
that didn’t sound credible
but anyway
yeah i meant it that way
*
but i didn’t lie to God
because that was
one of the longest
working Sunday i have had
in months
*
from 10 am to 2 am
but with good progress made
*
but not without some struggle
in the middle
because i can definitely
feel that you can’t do things right
or at least not as productive
during the holiday season
between Christmas and New Year
*
but anyway
i worked quite hard
throughout Boxing Day to
New Year’s Eve
*
in bed by 10 something on NYE
can’t even hear the firework
i was probably sleeping soundly
*
i can’t believe
i wrote this post that early
while everything is still
fresh in mind

but writing the November post
on the very same day
doesn’t sound that good
though
