So True X No Clue: Love for Blue

supposedly an assignment,
but put my heart and soul into writing it
yeah right,
started writing within 24 hours before submission

but kinda conceived the idea,
long time ago
because it is just an integral part of me

Blue is the creamy sky coated

with soft white marshmallow.

When the honey-sweet golden sunshine

penetrates through the marshmallow cloud,

busy little birdies chirp freely among the bushes.

Having a long tiring day ahead?

No worries, as long as the sky is blue,

you will always make it through.

Blue is the scent of the ocean

on a superb sunny Sunday.

The mischievous waves are

playing catch-me-if-you-can with the sand,

and giggling when the languid sand, again,

fails to catch them.

At the far horizon line where

the ocean and sky are merged into one,

all the shades of blue

are merged into one single hue.

There is where all the anxieties disappear into thin air.

Blue is the tick-tock sound of the clock

tickling faster and faster

on a gloomy Sunday evening.

Arrrggghhh,

here I am drowning helplessly and

slowly sinking in the couch with Monday blue.

How I wish that I have done something more fruitful,

how I wish that there are two Saturdays,

how I wish that Monday is a public holiday,

how I wish.

Blue is the happy song

sung by the little fairies

who live in mushroom houses at the far pristine jungle.

La-la-la-la-la, sing a happy song.

Cute little Smurf, they are all in baby blue.

They are bubbly, lively and a little silly.

They don’t even have to be in 3-D to look real.

It is all about our childhood,

the old-school dinasour age when

children tune in to square television

instead of flat tablet and smart phone.

Blue is the chubby robotic cat who

owns the yōjigen-pocket, a time machine,

some bamboo-copters and among others.

It is Doraemon who bails Nobita out

whenever he is in trouble.

A friend in need is a friend indeed.

When life is turbulent and

characters like Giant and Suneo

further aggravate my journey,

I hold tightly the blue Doraemon charm in my pocket

and tell myself that

everything is going to be just fine.

Blue is the strumming of guitar which

lingers in my mind all night long.

Somewhere over the rainbow,

Eric Clapton shall wipe away

your tears in heaven with his soothing tune.

The rhythm of blue

which is not really in mainstream pop,

yet never fails to attract avid fans like me.

On a cold raining day,

all I need is hot chocolate and warm blanket,

not forgetting the favourite blue tune

which light up my day.

Blue is once upon a time

a British boy band after

the rise of Boyzone and Westlife Era.

They sing, they dance and

they get the girls go screaming.

That is what all boy band does, isn’t it?

A short-term craze that soon faded

after the split on 2005,

still they will always remain as

my all-time-favourite boy band.

After growing older,

I find it a little difficult to be

going head over heels for boy band

along with high school girls.

What is the latest trend now?

Is it still that Bieber kid?

Blue is part and parcel of

my childhood (romance) dream.

Blue is the vibrant world of fashion.

From chambray blue blouse,

light blue faded skinny jeans,

navy blue blazer to

a simple little blue dress,

blue is never out of trend.

Leisure, formal or smart casual,

one can never go wrong with blue.

It is kind of difficult to say

that the same goes for red, green or yellow.

Noir blue, violet blue, teal blue and the list goes on.

It is probably safe to just buy them all.

Blue is the colour of uniformity and discipline.

The marine navy force which

safeguards the frontier of a nation and

the police force which

protects the citizens of the city

are smartly dressed in blue uniforms with

glorious golden badges.

On a personal scale, long time ago,

we girls all wear blue uniforms too.

6 years throughout the primary school

in the navy blue pinafore and

another 5 years of azure blue

during high school.

Blue is a calm and charming personality.

A person who stays aloof (yet not arrogant) all the time,

watching the world goes by.

He is a composed yet confident person who

rarely talks but rather absorbs.

Yet he is nobody’s fool.

He is just cool.

More importantly,

being blue is to stay true.

Blue is the colour of sovereignty and unity.

It is on the flags of

the United Kingdom named Union Jack,

Old Glory representing the United States of America,

the European Union,

and of course,

our beloved Jalur Gemilang from Malaysia.

(okay this is fake)

Not forgetting,

light blue on the flag of United Nation flag,

is supposedly the opposite of red (the war colour).

In short,

do not try to mess around with blue,

because its power is kind of huge.

Blue, you are too good to be true.

Why am I so crazy over you,

I simply do not have a clue.
