It Hurts X To Be Absurd: Brideshead Revisited

Brideshead revisited book

glad that i have found this

gave up a couple of novels

including Toni Morrison, BELOVED

somehow not in mood for heavy stuffs

tragedy in an English noble family

each member tearing apart

the huge Utopia finally coming to a ruin

can’t help comparing it to

《The Adventure of Augie March》

in terms of destination and destruction

Aloysius the Bear

Lord Sebastian refused to bring him abroad to Venice

because he thought the baddy teddies there will

bring bad influences to Aloysius

he carries him around, talking to him often

in a very natural manner, like a close friend

it symbolizes his search for security

in the world which he thought was ridiculous

and vice versa, as the world sees him as an eccentric

Aloysius the Bear
