agenda setting theory
something media guys learn
before they even know how to produce one
it’s pretty well illustrated in this movie
it teaches us that
do not believe in every single thing
that the media is telling you
it’s a pretty well-paced movie
in between the contrasts
I contrast of space:
the huge but cold bungalow
the small yet lovely space
the pretty outskirt with air of death
II contrast of values:
the vigorous gf vs the lacking bf
the suspicious wife vs sarcastic husband
the innocent rookie vs the crookie boss
III contrast of status:
in the first place,
looking all gorgeous on a public bus is wrong
(if she doesn’t give up the seat,
there are so many more people around who
can easily do so, right?)
and
big boss vs the porter boy
filthy rich wife vs struggling working class
all these contrasts
are part and parcel of this complicated web
which ended up in a conflict
like never before
who is at fault then?
and basically
in this kind of intriguing storyline
you would never know
when will the climax step in
it’s like a roller coaster slowly picking up
suddenly free-falling, landed on the floor
in a blink of eye
there comes the suicide dead
leading to the end of the story
word of caution:
this is definitely not a love story
although it appears that
the love-bite between Mark and Yuanyuan
is out glowing the whole story
I don’t know
somehow I have got this scary thought
is this part of agenda setting as well
the love-birds behind the scene
they better don’t
because..
I like this man a lot
no matter whether
he is this particular jobless dude
the violent cop in B&W
that emo rocker in First Time
or another super rich hunk in Love
he just feels real
