Room 2109 @ HINP

Hotel Ibis

so this is an international chain

of budget hotel across the globe

look out for it the next time you travel

even at Algeria

*

at first i wanted to book one

at WanChai

so that i could be nearer

to the HKECC

easier for me to go see my Prince

*

luckily Sam recommended this

comparatively cheaper

since WanChai is a business district

there is where Grand Hyatt is

on the contrast

North Point is more

like a local residential area

but both are only 3 stations apart

*

31 storeys building

with outstanding colours

like the striking colours

*

i love my room

with harbour view

every morning the first thing to do

were staring at the sea, the sky and skyscrapers,

and observing the weather, praying for a clear day

harbour viewa ferry crossing over to Hong HumKowloon side drizzlinglayers and layers of cloudfinally a shiny day again

*

as seen in the photos

there is a harbour in sight

ferrying-ing us directly to Hong Hum

towards Hong Hum

*

and this is where the bus terminal is located too

there is direct bus service every 20 mins

to and fro Airport (A11)

and also Disneyland  (R11)

*

so we didn’t have to take the cab

or transferring among different trains

with our luggage

which was that many during day 5

just took the bus A11

which headed down directly to the Airport

stored our stuffs there

before heading to Lantau Island

loots

*

in short

transport is super convenient

train station is like 10 steps away

bus terminal 15

and ferry terminal 20

*

during the 1st day

on bus R11 back from Disneyland

after 11 pm

the bus was almost empty

only us on the upper deck

another Jp family downstairs

started to be on alert

oh man

i didn’t even have the address

of our hotel

all i know it’s at Java Road

*

and finally saw the road sign, Java Road

told my dad, seemed that we are quit near

“don’t play a joke (in mandarin),

where should we be alighting?”

*

“i don’t know…. ar har,

the bus was reaching terminal already”

and i saw the yellow-blue building with the Ibis signboard

oh.. what a close shave

*

there was a little imperfection

there is a 4th kind of transports

which we never get to travel in

the tram

or the local call it the deng-deng-che

*

i know there are some heading to North Point

while we were at Causeway Bay and WanChai

just that i wasn’t too sure

at which part of North Point the stations are located

just in case the stations are far from our hotel

just in case we couldn’t find our way back to the hotel

therefore i dared not take the risk

*

till the very last day

when we were heading towards the airport

i discovered the tram route is

located just at the main street behind

within walking distance

reserve this for next summer then

ding ding car

*

the room was small

but comfortable

and all the necessities are in place

*

if you have heard the Mandarin idiom

although the sparrow is small in size,

it has got all the 5 organs

i hope my translation is not misleading

or you may google the original phrase

麻雀雖小 五臟俱全

*

i didn’t check all these when booking, seriously

my concerns were just

the transportation, price and view

my daily duty, at least 3 rounds Electrolux where peach and pink guava juice were stored

*

a little lame joke to share

before i saw this label

i always think that

mini bar in the room description column

is a small corner for drinking,

like a pantry kind of thingy

a bar?

*

love the Swissmade mini dryer too

some hotels put it in the bathroom

which put me on the fear of

being electrocuted

Valera

*

others including

sufficient power supply points, 4

if you have the experience of fighting for

power supply points for cameras, mp3s, phones

and the mirrors around

for me to…

grinning moron shopping is a tiring sport Roxy rox

*

the tv on the wall that

accompanied me till late nights

btw that were Hakken Lee and

Roger Kwok who was so so fat back then

you can even pay to watch adult movies

Roger Kwok & Hakken LeeTV channel list

*

i like this eco friendly concepts too

it reminded me to switch off

the not-in-used lights frome time to timeok, no problem :) thank you for your reminder too

*

bidding goodbye

my dad bought this number

but didn’t kena

maybe because i have already captured it

here in this photo already

pantang pantang

2109

*

i didn’t take any of the “souvenirs”

from the room

not even the note i wrote

you know how some aunties

trying to maximize their utilities

or trying to capture memories of the hotel room

that they conveniently “transfer” stuffs away

iluv...

*

the only con

if it is ever a con

there is no free wifi

provided at a charge of HKD 20 per hour

well that’s quite reasonable

and it forces you to go out more

instead of internet-ing comfortably in the room

which you are already doing everyday at home

thank you

i will be back again

*

always wondering

how was the non-harbour view is like

went peeping at the emergency exit

what came into sight was

authentic HK homes

small squares of hustles and bustles

at night can see clearly how the people in there

moving around, kids doing revision etc etc…

the so-called city view small yet warm houses
